Hot Rods Hand Legends 4-2 Loss
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods got a good effort from starter Roger Ramos in defeating the Lexington Legends at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The final score was 4-2. Ramos yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-6. Matt McDonel closed the door for Bowling Green, picking up his 24th save of the year.
The Hot Rods got a big at-bat from second baseman Giichi Takezawa. For the game, Takezawa was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Bowling Green a 4-2 lead.
Bowling Green manager Scott Meissner was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
The third-place Hot Rods hiked their record to 40-29.
