Miami laid the wood on Chicago at LoanDepot Field.

The Miami Marlins handed the Chicago Cubs a sound defeat, 16-2, at LoanDepot Field. Tris Running was a main contributor to the win. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 4 for Miami. Jaymes Wilson, who led the NL in innings pitched with 204.2 last year, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 3 strikeouts.
