Tweedy Belts Bunch of Base Hits
|
Greenville Drive third baseman Andrew Tweedy had a day to remember at Fluor Field at the West End, ripping apart the Hickory Crawdads and sparking the 7-5 Drive win.
Tweedy wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Tweedy told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Andrew Tweedy singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
For the year, Tweedy is batting .462 with 1 home run.
