The Savannah Bananas bested the Hickory Crawdads by a score of 5-2, with right fielder Weston Lay getting the main credit. On the day, Lay went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Bananas. Patrick Boston picked up the save, his 3rd.

It could have been a different outcome for Savannah, had it not been for Aiden Bean, the 24-year old shortstop . Bean contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Savannah up, 2-1.

"I had a good game," said Lay. "Winning makes it even better."

Savannah is now 33-35.
