Kannapolis first baseman Téo Cardeñas helped his team beat the Savannah Bananas, 9-5. Cardeñas, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in home runs with 10, went 3 for 5 for the Intimidators. Alfredo Rodriguez earned the win for Kannapolis. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 4-5. George Jordan closed the door for Kannapolis, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Cardeñas contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Kannapolis in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Cardeñas took a sinker from K.J. Nelson and stroked the home run to center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Intimidators to leap in front, 3-1.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Cardeñas.

Kannapolis's record now stands at 35-24, placing them second in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
