Fireflies Suffer 6-5 Setback
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators downed the Columbia Fireflies, 6-5. The hitting star was first baseman Winston Ritchie. Ritchie went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs for the Intimidators. Kannapolis now has a record of 40-18 with the win.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Dan Stallings came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Columbia pitcher Izaiah Pearson, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kannapolis on top, 6-5.
"I like the roll we're on," said Kannapolis manager Jason McDonald.
