In a low-scoring affair between the Greensboro Grasshoppers and the Jonesboro Growlers, pitcher Tim Allums was the difference between victory and defeat. The Greensboro right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Grasshoppers win. Allums, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. Rogelio Corbett nailed down the save.
Third Baseman Glanville Villa made an impact for Greensboro, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Rufio Lozano in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Villa went 1-4 with a double.
