Fireflies Win with Late Heroics
The Columbia Fireflies did just enough to secure a victory over the Hagerstown Suns, 4-3, in 11 innings at Spirit Communications Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Yannick File. The win belonged to Bret Taveras in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Benjamin Fischer took the loss for Hagerstown. With this game in the books, Columbia is 26-26, Hagerstown 26-26.

The Fireflies got a clutch hit from catcher Ike Turmel. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Fireflies.
