Asheville Hot Streak Continues with 2-1 Win
|
Asheville beat Columbus on the strength of starter Karson Burroughs's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. Burroughs, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Earning his 14th save for Asheville was Ross Allen.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Sean Robinson? The Asheville first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tourists on top, 2-1. For the game, Robinson had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We scored one run," said Columbus manager Francisco Avalos. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
Asheville has won 7 straight games.
