Catfish Take Home 4-2 Win Over Augusta
|
Columbus Catfish starter Danny Ross turned in an exceptional performance against the Augusta GreenJackets at Progressive Field, resulting in a Columbus win, 4-2. With the victory, the Catfish record stands at 21-28.
Abel Newell was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Columbus. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Winn Horton. It was his 79th hit of the season.
"Danny is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said Columbus manager Francisco Avalos.
