The Lakewood BlueClaws converted a terrific effort from starter Bernat Atempa into a win over the Lexington Legends at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The BlueClaws won the game by a final score of 6-2. In 8 innings, Atempa surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Legends, now 1-48, have lost 27 in a row.

Jayden Brady had a big 2-run home run for the BlueClaws in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Lakewood leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Magglio Quero and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the BlueClaws ahead, 5-1.

"Awesome outing. Bernat was on top of them all night long," said Lakewood manager Ben Schiappa.
