Augusta Nets 4-3 Win Versus RiverDogs
|
The Augusta GreenJackets overcame a good performance by Charleston third baseman Wagner Abbatoy to knock off Charleston, 4-3, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Abbatoy was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Arizona Klausman earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record is now 2-1. By defeating Charleston, the second-place GreenJackets improved to 26-20.
Had Rich Scott not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Scott hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the GreenJackets.
Augusta manager Hector Garduno praised his team's "businesslike approach."
