Cincinnati Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 29-year old second baseman Hector De La Rosa, the Pittsburgh Pirates stopped the Cincinnati Reds, 4-0. Pittsburgh reliever Ryan Kopac picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Joshua Chavez took the loss. With the win, Pittsburgh is 7-9.
Early in the game, De La Rosa had a grand slam home run for Pittsburgh. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Pirates on top, 4-0.
"Hector leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Pittsburgh manager Maximiliano Godoy.
