Braves Paste 3-0 Loss on Shorebirds
|
In a tight game between the Rome Braves and the Delmarva Shorebirds, pitcher Ace Hoffman was terrific on the mound. The Rome left-hander helped his team to the 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was Hoffman, now 4-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 11. Orson Zimmer sewed up the save, his 15th.
Rome shortstop Ron Witwicki pitched in with a bases-clearing double in the top of the second. For the game, Witwicki was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI.
"Ace had electric stuff," said Rome manager Jake Lappin.
The win hiked the Rome record to 24-23.
