Kannapolis took on Greenville in front of a lively crowd.
Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Patrick Suarez, who is tied for 2nd in the SAL in stolen bases with 12, the Kannapolis Intimidators defeated the Greenville Drive, 3-0. Ruben Jovel, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Intimidators had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the first, when second baseman Yair Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Levi Temples and made the score 1-0, Intimidators. Rodríguez went 1 for 4.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Suarez.
The Intimidators now have a record of 14-23 with the win over Greenville.
