Shorebirds Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Spirit Communications Park.

The Delmarva Shorebirds defeated the Columbia Fireflies, 7-5, in 10 innings. Doing his part was designated hitter Eli Cugno, who went 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The first-place Shorebirds have a record of 28-11.

Tyson Severe came through with a big-time hit for Delmarva. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It was terrific getting this win," Severe said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
