The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Columbia Fireflies, 5-2, at NewBridge Bank Park. Greensboro right fielder Emiliano Marte had a superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Finn Walker snagged the win in relief. He goes to 6-0 on the season. Sebastián Dávila suffered the loss. Carter Alberti got the save, the 4th for him this season.

With Greensboro trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Marte hit a fastball from Sebastián Dávila for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Grasshoppers ahead, 3-2.

"Glad to get this win," said Marte. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."

Greensboro's record now stands at 21-15, placing them 4th in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
