Braves Lose to Intimidators in Walk Off
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Michael Taroon, the Rome Braves lost to the Kannapolis Intimidators, 6-5. Taroon went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Kannapolis pitcher Pluto Benedith got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Stuart Kitzmiller got the loss. The first-place Intimidators improved to 20-11.
The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Stuart Kitzmiller, Ric Acevedo grounded out, driving in 1 run. It gave Kannapolis the 6-5 win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Acevedo said.
