Tourists Taken Down, 4-2, by Hickory
Hickory pitcher Jack Adams did his part in helping his team beat the Asheville Tourists, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Adams picked up the win for Hickory, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Hickory now owns a record of 15-17.

In the top of the ninth, George Simonson stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Tourists were trailing 4-2, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Oscar Serrano made a terrific pitch and Simonson grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Asheville comeback.
