Crawdads Come Back Late to Clip Tourists
|
Despite a fine performance by first baseman Carwyn Cain, the Asheville Tourists lost to the Hickory Crawdads, 4-3. Cain belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Hickory pitcher Matteo Mathis earned the win, hiking his record to 2-1. Kayden Wisecarver suffered the loss. Hickory is now 14-17, while Asheville is 16-15.
Hickory fans at L.P. Frans Stadium were rewarded for their support of the Crawdads with a nice win.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Brooks said in his postgame press conference.
