|
The Columbia Fireflies picked up a win at Ballpark of Savannah, defeating the Savannah Bananas, 7-1. Starting pitcher Remy Boadu was an essential part of his team's success. The 6th-place Fireflies bumped their record to 16-15.
The Fireflies got a big at-bat from right fielder Jack Rainey. For the game, Rainey went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Columbia a 2-0 lead.
"I made a lot of good pitches," said Boadu. "I was right where I wanted to be."
