Columbia Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Columbia got a strong outing from Scott Corona as the Fireflies defeated the Jonesboro Growlers, 3-2, at Spirit Communications Park. Columbia reliever C.J. Bross picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dylan Nail was saddled with the loss. Columbia, at 12-20, occupies 8th place in the South Atlantic League Carolina Division.
Isaac Cummings was the walk-off hero for Columbia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fireflies first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The house was rockin'," said Cummings.
