Hot Rods Down Tourists, 4-2
|
The Bowling Green Hot Rods earned a win at Bowling Green Ballpark, knocking off the Asheville Tourists, 4-2. On the bump for Bowling Green was right-hander Hunter Wallace. He had a starring role in the triumph. Wallace picked up the win for Bowling Green, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. The Tourists, now 7-17, continue their poor start.
The Hot Rods got a big at-bat from catcher Jacob Kiser. For the game, Kiser went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Bowling Green a 3-1 lead.
"Hunter looked very determined to have a good game," said Bowling Green manager Scott Meissner. "He was totally focused and he produced."
