Charleston Dismisses Lexington, 8-3
|
The rain came, as predicted, but the Charleston RiverDogs and Lexington Legends were able to complete their ballgame.
Heath Fletcher led Charleston to a win over Lexington. The final score was 8-3. The third baseman collected 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Bryce Anzures earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0.
With Charleston leading 5-3 in the top of the fifth, Fletcher hit a fastball from Elijah Reyes for a 2-run double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the RiverDogs ahead, 7-3.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Fletcher said. "And the same is true when you lose."
Lexington, at 2-21, has had a dismal start to the season.
