Intimidators Spill Tourists, 3-0
|
Jaycob Murray pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Asheville Tourists, despite Murray's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Kannapolis Intimidators at McCormick Field. George Jordan earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Getting the save was Bang Niemi, his 6th.
Kannapolis used the timely hitting of Téo Cardeñas to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Intimidators on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Cardeñas.
The Tourists fall to 6-11 and continue their lackluster start in 2059.
