The home crowd had a good time watching the Virginia Black Bears and Colorado Rockies get after it.

The Colorado Rockies beat the Virginia Black Bears, 9-4, at Coors Field. Gene Allaire starred for Colorado. He was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2. The victory makes Colorado 9-5, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2060.

Miller Head went 2-5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for Colorado. The 28-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Derek Darlington. It was his 8th RBI of the season.
