West Virginia Power starter Merv Ledlow kept the Greensboro Grasshoppers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. Ledlow yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 4, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-0. At 9-5, the Power have played well so far.

Carlos Santana was 1-4 for West Virginia. The 19-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Manny Schroeder. It was his 8th hit of the season.
