Intimidators Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Kannapolis Intimidators overcame a big game from Greenville left fielder Luka Fallica to pick up a win at Fluor Field at the West End. The final score was 8-7, Kannapolis, in 10 innings. Fallica hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Jeremy Murphy claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. With the loss, Greenville sinks to 7-4.
Alton Sandoval drove in one run for Kannapolis. The 22-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Easton Kemp. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Sandoval. "You've got to get results."
