Big Day for Clay in 12-5 Catfish Win
|
The Columbus Catfish defeated the Lakewood BlueClaws, 12-5, at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Columbus was led by 22-year old right fielder Chace Clay, who went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Chance Ortmeyer, the winning pitcher, is now 2-0. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2. The win gives the Catfish a record of 6-4.
In the top of the fourth, Columbus first baseman Dylan Greer had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Greer stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-2, Columbus. For the game, he went 3 for 6 with 3 singles. He scored 3 runs.
