Shorebirds Solve Legends, 6-3
|
The Delmarva Shorebirds put one in the win column on Opening Day at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Shorebirds defeated the Lexington Legends, 6-3. Delmarva catcher Danny Deason was instrumental in his team's success. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
With Delmarva leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, Deason hit a sinker from Ardley Wright for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Shorebirds ahead, 6-0.
"Solid performance from our side," said Shorebirds manager Dan Lueck.
