Suns Get Close Win Over Tourists, 3-2
|
McCormick Field was the site of the home opener for the Asheville Tourists. The contest featured a prime matchup between Aiden Stegenga of the visiting Hagerstown Suns and Ben Caviglia of the Tourists. The final score was 3-2, the Suns getting the win. Aiden Stegenga turned in the best performance.
Hagerstown used the timely hitting of Greyson Lobb to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Suns on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Luciano Cole.
