Brayton scores 3 runs, Leads Sod Poodles to Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Ames Sod Poodles and West Michigan Whitecaps.
The Ames Sod Poodles beat the West Michigan Whitecaps, 8-6, at Community Field. The win was due in part to right fielder Isaac Brayton, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Michael LeDoux picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Alex Kapataidakis was tagged with the loss.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Brayton hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Sod Poodles into the lead, 7-4.
"We take it day by day here," said Brayton, "and today was a good one for us."
Today's win puts Ames at 64-69, while West Michigan falls to 62-71.
