Late Heroics Net Cubs 5-4 Win
The South Bend Cubs picked up a win at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium, knocking off the Lansing Lugnuts, 5-4, in 15 innings. On the mound for South Bend was right-hander Iván Sifuentes. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. South Bend currently is in 7th place in the Midwest League Eastern Division at 60-71.

Batting in the bottom of the 15th, 24-year old left fielder J.R. Taylor had a real shot to win the game. Lansing pitcher Hunter Brown was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Taylor hit a run-scoring single. The Cubs had a walk-off triumph.

"It was bedlam at the end," Sifuentes said.
