Walk-Off Seals 83rd Victory for LumberKings

The Clinton LumberKings did just enough to sneak past the Ames Sod Poodles, 4-3, at Ashford University Field. Clinton pitcher Jonny Santana, in particular, had a standout performance. Clinton reliever Brendan Pettway picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mason White shouldered the loss. The LumberKings go to 83-47, putting them first in the Midwest League Western Division.
The LumberKings were down to their final out when third baseman Nat Proctor turned a 0-1 fastball from Mason White into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Ashford University Field crowd go wild.
"I got in a good groove," said Santana. "I was getting some swings and misses."
