Toronto Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
The Montreal Expos had to overcome a fine effort from Toronto pitcher Hugo Paulino to grab a narrow 2-0 win at Olympic Stadium. Paulino went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever Chris Romano picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Hugo Paulino took the loss. Earning his 1st save of the year was Russell Coe.
Making an impact for the home team was Jonah Pérez. In the bottom of the fourth, the 27-year old second baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Expos.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Montreal manager Dirk Botelho.
Montreal, now 8-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.
