River Bandits Lose at Home, 9-3, to Dayton
|
The Dayton Dragons defeated the Quad Cities River Bandits, 9-3. Doing his part was second baseman Gregory Shoemaker, who went 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Dayton reliever Tony Wilson picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Leary Rice shouldered the loss. The triumph puts Dayton at 91-37 for the season.
It could have been a different outcome for Dayton, had it not been for José Crespo, the 24-year old shortstop . Crespo contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Dayton up, 3-0.
"I still think this team can play even better," Shoemaker told the Dayton Herald.
