Woolly Mammoths Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Sod Poodles
|
Westside first baseman Denver Tiedemann played a vital role in his team's 3-0 triumph over Ames. He was 2-4 with 2 singles for Westside. Westside reliever Brian Bergfeld picked up the win, upping his record to 8-4. Jeff Illas was saddled with the loss. Earning his 26th save of the year was Dustin Cuella.
Tiedemann had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a single. The Woolly Mammoths went on to win.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager Wil Coffey.
The Woolly Mammoths saw their record improve to 62-62.
