The Pittsburgh Pirates weathered a fine game by Minnesota right fielder Raul Cathey to upend the Twins, 6-5, at Best Buy Ballpark. Cathey went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Pittsburgh reliever Lucas Mills picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Richard Glenn was saddled with the loss. Caleb Fineman finished to wrap up his 2nd save.

Andy Kiser, who led the WEST in batting average with .329 in 2050, chipped in for Pittsburgh with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Kiser, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The Pirates, now 4-9, have not found much traction so far in 2052.
