Dayton 70-45 After 3-1 Victory
|
In a low-scoring affair between Dayton Dragons and the Cedar Rapids Haymakers, pitcher Leon Harlan was the difference-maker. The Dayton right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 3-1 win. Earning the save was Silviano Díaz. He's now cashed in 27 of 32 save opportunities. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Dayton.
Travis Maldonado had a big run-scoring double for the Dragons in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Dayton leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a sinker from Dennis Smalley and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dragons ahead, 2-0.
"Tough loss," said Cedar Rapids manager Riley Scott. "But we'll rebound from it."
