Haymakers Lose, 3-0
|
In a tight contest between the Lansing Lugnuts and the Cedar Rapids Haymakers, Randy Carreras was the determining factor. The Lansing right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-0 win. With the win, the Lugnuts improved to 67-48.
Lansing used the hitting of Ewing Lekota to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lugnuts on top, 2-0. For the game, Lekota had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Do what you're good at," said Lansing manager Mitch Carmichael. "That's all I ask of the team."
