Cubs Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
Beloit got a big-time effort from pitcher Ian Franco, but it wasn't enough to keep the South Bend Cubs from winning the game, 8-6. Franco threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Lamont Ramírez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-2. Skip Schott Jr. finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

South Bend needed the clutch hitting of Guillermo Francisco to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cubs on top, 8-6. For the game, Francisco had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Francisco.

The win makes South Bend 50-63.
