The Great Lakes Loons locked up a win at Dow Diamond, knocking off the Westside Woolly Mammoths, 8-7. On the mound for Great Lakes was left-hander Aron Kuchan. He played a major role in the triumph. Jordan Karbon, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed 6 runs on 6 hits in 1 innings. The first-place Loons now sit at 75-41.
Miguel Camarena hit a 2-run double off Isaac Newlin in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Loons in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Camarena had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Loons manager Eli Coalter. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
