Woolly Mammoths Stumble Again, Lose, 4-2
|
Billy Sholar knocked in all 4 runs for the Great Lakes Loons, helping them beat the Westside Woolly Mammoths, 4-2. Great Lakes reliever Norradin Robinson picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Napoleon Cacace absorbed the loss. Gordie Dawdy was called on to finish, recording his 11th save.
Sholar had a timely hit for Great Lakes in the bottom of the eighth. With Great Lakes trailing 2-0, he turned a first pitch slider into a grand slam home run. It was his 13th home run of the season, making it 4-2, Great Lakes.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Great Lakes skipper Eli Coalter.
This win makes it 6 in a row for Great Lakes.
