David Almonte was instrumental in his team's 8-4 triumph over the Ames Sod Poodles. The center fielder was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Quad Cities River Bandits. The 4th-place River Bandits now have a win-loss record of 61-48.

Almonte had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch sinker from Walter Oginsky, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the River Bandits a 8-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Almonte.
