In a low-scoring contest between the Madison Muskies and the Ames Sod Poodles, 22-year old right-handed pitcher Johnny Schaefer proved to be the difference. The Madison right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Muskies win. Oliver Carr picked up the save, his 6th. Madison now owns a record of 51-56.

Schaefer gave Madison a solid start. The right-hander, who is listed at 6' 0", 185 lbs, allowed no runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings.

"When you have a good rhythm and good flow, it's nice to just go out there and pound the strike zone with confidence," said Schaefer.
