Loons Over TinCaps, 3-1

The Great Lakes Loons wanted a good start from Lance Kemp -- and he delivered one. The result was a 3-1 Great Lakes win over the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Parkview Field. Tony Kear earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-1. Great Lakes is now 75-33, 10 games up in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
Ernie Jean delivered a big hit for Great Lakes. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Loons ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"No disrespect to the other team," said Great Lakes manager Ferdinand Coleman. "But it's nice to get an easy win."
