Red Hot LumberKings Win Again, 9-8
|
The Clinton LumberKings topped the Madison Muskies, 9-8, in 13 innings. Clinton first baseman José Izaguirre, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win belongs to Marco Maria in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Mike Giles took the loss for Madison. Clinton is now 61-40, while Madison is 59-42.
The most significant at-bat for Clinton came with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the 13th. LumberKings pinch hitter Kyle Vitale hit a run-scoring single to win the game.
"It's fun coming to the ballpark," said Izaguirre, "when you're on this kind of roll."
