Westside Beats Quad Cities in Extra Innings
The Westside Woolly Mammoths in 11 innings downed the Quad Cities River Bandits, 7-5, at Modern Woodmen Park. Derek Black led the way, going 3-for-5 for Westside. Charles Leal claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. His record stands at 5-0. With the win, the Woolly Mammoths improved to 47-43.

Black had a game-changing home run in the top of the 11th. On a 2-0 fastball from Cameron Bullinger, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Woolly Mammoths a 7-5 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Black.

"I want us to get on a roll," said Black. "It'll happen when everyone's committed to the cause."
