Fisher Forester led Ames to a win over Cedar Rapids. The final score was 9-6. The right fielder had a huge performance. He whacked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The Sod Poodles move to 45-47 with the win, while the Haymakers drop to 37-55.
Had Mitchell Allen not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Allen hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Sod Poodles.
"We came out with clear minds and swung the bats well," said Ames manager Jake DiVita.
