Barshay Leads TinCaps to Win
|
Griffin Barshay was instrumental in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Lake County Captains. The third baseman went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Lonny Kelly notched his 4th save of the season. The TinCaps, at 24-62, sit in last place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.
Had Barshay not come through in the bottom of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Barshay hit a 2-run single. The TinCaps took the lead, 6-4, and never looked back.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Barshay, "and then get after it again."
